How to apply for the ISI mark registration?
Any manufacturer and business owner who feels confident enough that his product has the ability to meet the BIS standards can apply for the certification in two ways:-
- Submitting an application at nearest BIS office. A BIS officer will then visit your manufacturing unit to inspect for the quality of product capability of the product to evaluate the quality standards. If the sample evaluation is satisfactory and passes the test, a license is granted and the manufacturer can use the ISI mark.
- The manufacturer provides test reports to BIS it gets the product tested in the bureau lab’s and gets the documents certified independently.
